Extended Hours Appointments:
We now offer Saturday appointments with healthcare professionals at Little London Surgery (Little London, Walsall, Ws1 3EP) during the hours of 8am-4pm, please contact us for more information.
Patient Participation Group (PPG)
We would like to know how we can improve our service to you. To help us with this we have a PPG so that you can have your views heard.
We meet the volunteer members of this group several times throughout the year, discuss what services we have and are delivering, receive feedback on the success of these services along with suggestions from the group how we can work together to improve the delivery further

Prescription Ordering Direct Service
The Walsall NHS Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) service is an easy way for you to order your repeat prescription by telephone.
Our NHS POD has dedicated call handlers, trained to take requests for repeat prescriptions.
Walsall surgeries where the POD service is available:
- Forrester Street Medical Practice
- Pleck Health Centre
The NHS POD will be rolled out to other Walsall surgeries in the coming months.

Please note, requests will not be taken for acute medications or urgent prescriptions.
Telephone lines are open between 10.00am and 2pm Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
Patients are advised to:
- Please check your medication cupboard before ordering
- We ask patients to order their prescription when they have 7 days of medication left
- If you have a build-up of medication please let us know so that we can adjust the quantities so that everything falls in line.
- Please do not order ‘just in case’. If you need medication in the future then you will still be able to request it.
- Let us know if you have stopped taking any of your medication.

The NHS Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) service is provided by Modality Partnership on behalf of Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group.
Extra GP appointments available for Walsall patients
Patients registered with a Walsall GP can benefit from the Extended GP Access Service. NHS Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has worked with local GPs to create four Hubs based at Darlaston Health Centre, Pinfold Health Centre, Broadway Medical Practice and Portland Medical Practice. The Hubs are currently run by a group of local GPs.
Since launching the service in December 2017 and up until May 2018, more than 15,500 patients have accessed the service.
When can I get an out-of-hours appointment?
Extra GP appointments will be available between:
- 18:30 – 21:00 weekdays (all four Hubs)
- 10:00 – 15:00 weekends (excluding Darlaston Health Centre & Portland Medical Practice)
- 11:00 – 13.30 Bank Holidays (all four Hubs)
People will only be seen if they have booked an appointment.
How can I book one of these appointments?
A dedicated number has been set up and appointments can be booked by calling: 01922 501999 during the following times:
- 08:00 – 21:00 weekdays
- 10:00 – 15:00 weekends
- 11:00 – 13:00 bank holidays
NHS 111 will also be able to book an appointment for you if they feel you need to see a GP.
Do I need to be registered at one of the four surgeries where the Hubs are based to use the service?
No, you can be registered with any GP in Walsall to access the extra appointments. However, please note you will need to travel to one the four Hubs (listed above).
What if I’m not registered with a Walsall GP?
If you are not a registered patient at a Walsall GP, you will not be able to access these out-of-hours appointments. More information about these services can be found on Walsall CCG’s website: https://walsallccg.nhs.uk/
When should I use the Hubs?
The extended service is for patients who require a routine or same day GP appointment, but are unable to attend during normal opening hours. However, they are not walk-in centres and you will need to book an appointment- these can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
Please note that both of Walsall’s urgent care centres and its A&E department will still be open as normal for people to use in serious or life threatening emergencies.
