Gynaecology

Many women’s health concerns do not mean you have to go into hospital. You can be seen for diagnosis and treatment by our specialist community gynaecology team.

Our team is based in your local community, staffed by specialist GPs, a consultant gynaecologist and a small nursing team.

What can we help you with?

There’s a range of concerns, problems and symptoms we can treat. Here are some of the common things women visit us for help with:

  • Bleeding problems
  • Family planning and contraception
  • Irregular periods
  • Painful or heavy periods
  • Fertility concerns
  • Hormone troubles
  • Sexual issues

How can we help?

You can get advice, have investigations and procedures from our service.
We are able to investigate your problems and symptoms using a range of techniques and we have an ultrasound scan onsite so we can diagnose conditions without you needing to visit the hospital.
You can have tests such as biopsies to assess and diagnose possible problems and if needs be refer you to the hospital for anything serious.

We are also offering a new procedure called a hysteroscopy which is using a camera inserted into the womb to assess internal problems and get a live view of what is happening.

How to access the service

You will need to be referred by your GP. They will contact us and a member of our team will contact you to arrange your appointment.
