Work to improve the health of Sandwell and Birmingham residents and transform their experiences of the care they receive has been praised by David Mowat, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Community Health and Care. David paid a visit to Modality Partnership along with NHS England and Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG to find out more about work underway to introduce ‘new care models’ to the local healthcare system.

The Connected Care Partnership – the NHS vanguard programme for Sandwell and West Birmingham have announced that they are forming an alliance organisation to hold a future population health contract. This is reflective of a whole system approach from an STP and commissioning point of view. In addition to this an alliance arrangement can be effective by April 2018, rather than the procurement timeline for an MCP contract which would take longer.

GOQii has launched its services with Modality Partnership to prevent and manage chronic lifestyle disorders such as diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia. The  pilot programme began in August is facilitated by Modality Partnership, through the Connected Care Partnership (CCP), a national vanguard programme funded by NHS England for designing, testing and implementing new models of care.
